CloseGlossary

NPH is usually characterized by a triad of symptoms

The syndrome of NPH is usually characterized by a triad of symptoms: gait disturbances (difficulty walking), urinary incontinence (poor bladder control), and mild dementia (forgetfulness or cognitive impairments). These symptoms may occur at different times, and some may not be present at all. The most common sequence of symptoms is for the gait disturbance to appear first, then incontinence, and finally dementia.
